HAPPENINGS:

CSI SODA DRIVE 8/17-8/28:

Our annual CSI Soda Drive begins August 17th! Your soda donations help us provide our teachers sodas with their popcorn throughout the school year. This is a small way we say thank you for all they do. We will also have a friendly competition between homeroom classes, and the class that donates the most sodas will win a Popsicle Party. Thank you for helping us spoil our amazing teachers!

HOUSE SORTING DAY:

Our House System Sorting Day has been moved up to Tuesday, August 25th, and we can't wait for this exciting event! While this is a closed campus event, we'll be sure to share photos so families can enjoy the fun. Our returning 6th grade students and staff are excited to welcome our newest house members!

Please remind students to wear their house color if they are already in a house. Students who have not yet been sorted should wear white. The event will take place in the afternoon, followed by our first House competition of the year. It's a day your child won't want to miss!

6TH GRADE HONORS CONTRACTS DUE:

Attention 6th grade Honors students and families: Honors contracts are due Monday. If your child is enrolled in an Honors course, please make sure the completed contract is returned to their Honors teacher by Monday. Thank you for helping us ensure all paperwork is submitted on time!

PICTURE DAY:

Mark your calendars, school picture day is Wednesday, August 26! Students should come dressed and ready to smile. More information about ordering photos will be shared soon.

CLASSLINK:

ClassLink is our district’s single sign-on platform that gives students one secure place to log in and access all of their digital learning resources, programs, and more without needing multiple passwords.

IPAD CARE:

We appreciate your support in helping students take care of their district-issued iPads. Please remind your child to handle their device responsibly by:

  • Carrying it carefully and not using it while walking in the hallway.

  • Keeping their passcode private and not sharing it with others.

  • Treating the iPad gently to prevent damage.

STUDENTS STANDING STRONG (S3):

Students Standing Strong (S3) is a student-led bible study that meets weekly on the Intermediate School campus. It's purpose is "connecting students at school to learn, live and lead biblical truth."  All 5th and 6th graders are invited to meet in the library on Tuesdays from 4-5. This will run all year every Tuesday. Their first meeting will be on September 8th.

  • Parent form to fill out: CLICK HERE

  • If your student will be attending S3, please make a pick-up plan prior to Tuesday. Students will not be given the opportunity to call and ask to stay.

HOW TO SET UP ATTENDANCE/GRADE NOTIFICATIONS:
  • Parent Portal Alerts: Parent Portal has alerts that you can set up for both grades and attendance. If you do not have these set up and need instructions on how to do so, CLICK HERE

UPDATING PARENT PORTAL:
  • If you have moved, please make sure that you bring an updated proof of residency to the front office.

  • If any of your information changes, like phone numbers, please make sure you update this information in Parent Portal.

STAFF BIRTHDAYS FOR AUGUST:
  • 8/19: Mrs. Ingram - Cafe Manager

COUNSELOR CORNER:

The start of a new school year is the perfect time to establish routines that help students feel confident, organized, and ready to learn. Here are a few simple ways you can support your child at home:

  • Ease into an earlier bedtime so your child is well-rested and ready for the school day.

  • Keep a family calendar in a visible place with important school events, sports, concerts, and activities.

  • Build strong organizational habits by checking your child's take-home folder each evening and cleaning out their backpack regularly.

  • Help your future selves! Pack lunches the night before, lay out clothes for the next day, and encourage your child to complete a little homework each night to avoid last-minute stress and procrastination.

Small, consistent routines can make a big difference in helping students start the school year feeling prepared, responsible, and successful!

NURSE UPDATE:

It is a pleasure getting to know your students. I love seeing their smiling healthy faces every day. My goal is to keep your students healthy so they can remain in classrooms to grow their knowledge but I will need your help.

Please, review and save the following information so you can help me keep your students healthy this school year.
