Kindness Week

All next week, we will be celebrating “Kindness Week”.  We will be encouraging students, staff, and community members to promote kindness.  We will have a “Kindness Board” & “Kindness Bags” outside of staff members’ doors, so you can leave kind words.  Our counselors will be doing Kindness lessons in the classrooms, and we will give our students a chance to present acts of kindness they have seen.  Please encourage your student(s) to practice being kind to others not only this week, but always.

The Annual Father Daughter Dance will be help on Saturday, September 16th at 7:00pm in the High School Cafeteria.  The cost is $15 per couple and $5 for each additional child.  Come out and show us your moves!  For more information and to sign up,

Also, if your student wears any type of pants that does not have pockets on the back (yoga, leggings, etc.), shirts have to be long enough to cover the front and back areas.  If you have any questions regarding a specific subject, please refer to the handbook or feel free to contact our office.

PTA General Meeting

China Spring PTA will be hosting a general meeting Wednesday, September 20th, at 6:00pm in the Intermediate Library.  There will be a guest speaker to discuss Bullying.  For the topics that will be discussed, please see below.

Bullying remains one of the most significant challenges in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for our children and this damaging behavior can have lasting effects on both the bully and victim. This program addresses:

  • The nature and prevalence of bullying
  • Strategies for parents, students and school staff to address bullying
  • What works and doesn’t work in bullying prevention and intervention in schools
  • Awareness of the laws

As many schools and communities search for an answer to this ongoing social issue, it’s important to remember that parents and students are the most effective tools in bullying prevention. Learn strategies for helping your students to properly identify bullying activity, and empower them to STAND UP and help create a culture of kindness and respect in their school.

It’s the beginning of a new school year, and we are excited about continuing our efforts with the World Wear Bin.  While making room for the new clothes, shoes, and other items, please consider dropping off all your old belongings at the bin.  China Spring Intermediate School receives a money for each pound that is donated. Please keep in mind that furniture is NOT accepted. So please make sure our playground and campus stays neat and clean by not dumping items in front of the bin. Thank you!

We have many lunchboxes and water bottles on our lost and found table.  Please encourage your student to check the table and hooks daily.  We donate all unclaimed items at the end of every six weeks.
